



Venturi was formed early in 2009 by Malcolm Barnsley initially as a duo with percussionist Erik Roszkowiak to explore, in its own way, the musical areas opened up by Weather Report and the latterday groups of Miles Davis and Joe Zawinul with a strong presence of ethnic sounds and the emphasis on simple melody and danceable rhythms.
Malcolm Barnsley- Keyboards, Guitars
Guitar player from the age of 10 , Malcolm was active in the 80s and early 90´s with various jazz groups in the Southampton area including the New Jazz Aliens and his own trio Spacetent. He has performed at Bracknell Jazz Festival and the London Musicians Collective.
Coming back after a 10 year break from playing in 2005 he has taken up keyboards but still plays guitar on some numbers with Venturi.
Erik Roszkowiak- Percussion
‘Rosko‘ played drums with Andy Sheppard in the modern jazz/fusion quartet Sphere in the 80s and also in more experimental ‘free jazz‘ bands, including touring with the European Jazz Quartet with Tony Oxley
He is now more focussed on percussion and has studied Samba for 8 years through the London School of Samba and performing with Brazilian group BAT2K.
Lee Goodall - Saxophones, electric bass, percussion, keyboards, flutes
Lee served his apprenticeship in the highly competitive scene in New York in the early 1980s and has since been mainly based in South Wales where he has continued to establish his career performing with many world class musicians, teaching music and running Oakfield Studios.
He has a distinctive and soulful sound on all the saxophones but is also a highly talented multi-instrumentalist and arranger.
He has worked with many UK major figures in Jazz including Huw Warren,Andy Sheppard, Tony Levin and worked as bandleader for Van Morrison for 2 years.
